Mounting the Poster Printer Shared Disk
- These instructions show how to mount the samba share containing the Windows poster printer drivers and the printer accounting software client needed to print to the poster printer.
- Your computer must be attached to the 128.114.68, 128.114.69, or 128.114.25 campus network subnets.
- Select "File Explorer" from the "Windows" menu (This is the small window icon in the low left corner of Windows 10).
- Click on "This PC".
- Click on "Computer" and Select "Map network drive".
- In the "Folder:" field enter "\\print.pmc.ucsc.edu\posterprinter".
- Check the box that says "Reconnect at logon".
- Click "Finish".
- "posterprinter" will now be mounted and can be found found under the "This PC" in the "File Explorer".

- We will now create a printer instance for "epsposter"
- Select "Settings" from the "Windows Menu" (window icon in bottom left-hand corner).
- Select "Devices" from the "SETTINGS" window.
- Select "Add a printer or scanner".
- Select "The printer that I want isn't listed".
- Select the "Select a shared printer by name" radio button.
- In the text field beneath the radio button enter: "http://print.pmc.ucsc.edu:631/printers/epsposter" and click "Next".
- A dialog box "Windows Printer Installation" will popup.
- Wait a moment and a second dialog box "Add Printer Wizard" will popup.
- Click on "HP" under the "Manufacturer" list.
- Click on "HP Designjet T1100 44in Class Driver" in the "Printers" list.
- Click "Ok".
- The "Windows Printer Installation" window should now say: "You've successfully added epsposter on http://print.pmc.ucsc.edu:631".
- Click "Next".
- Click "Finish".
